R&E Racing was established in February of 1972 as a result of two aerospace engineers from Edward's Air Force Base wanting a source for performance parts. The business license was listed as R&E Racing because of the six month partnership of Randy & Ed. The remaining years of business have been a sole proprietorship totally the responsibility and dedication of Ed Bailes and staff.
The original store and garage area was approximately 800 sq. ft. - All auto repair engine building and retail sales were done in this facility through 1976. |

At the end of 1976, R&E Racing purchased property on Sierra Highway and proceeded to remodel in the evening and do business during normal store hours. This growth period continued through 1989 at which time construction was started on a 10,000 sq. ft. garage facility to be used for installations and repairs. The total square footage of R&E Racing by 1989 was 25,000 sq. ft. and employed 15-18 full time employees, which by this time was needed to operate the retail, wholesale, mail order and installation/repair divisions.
R&E Racing will be adding a 8,000 sq.ft. warehouse in the near future to facilitate the growing demand of its mail order and wholesale divisions. The last of the the three new facilities to be constructed will begin sometime soon thereafter , and will entail a new 12,000 sq. ft. retail store and business offices. |
